About the Doghouse
"Who" is the Doghouse?
The Doghouse is San Francisco's longest-running Saturday night
swing dance and Lindy Hop venue, run by Chad Kubo and Melanie Moore.
What is the Doghouse?
Catering to dancers of all ages and levels, the Doghouse each Saturday
offers drop-in lessons taught by Chad and Melanie, and guest instructors.
Specialty classes and mini-workshops are also offered periodically
as part of the Dogskool "curriculum". (We'll always post
announcements on special classes on our main homepage)
After the lesson is when the dance party starts! With a great mix
of swingin' tunes provided by either house DJ Jesse or Chad (and
sometimes guest DJ's), the joint jumps until 12:30 am!
The Doghouse has also been host to special events, such as Cabaret
Nights and live band nights featuring favorites such as Stompy
Jones and Nights with Lady Day.
When do classes and the party take place?
There are TWO time slots for classes:
7:30 pm - 8:15 pm
8:15 pm - 9:00 pm
Swing Dance Party - 9:00 pm - 12:30 am - all ages
